July 6, 2008: HAPPY INDEPENDENCE EVERYBODY!!!! Just want shout out a big "THANK YOU" to all of the bands that we have hit the stage with. We are still trying to finish our new album, but summer shows have been keep us away from our studio. This July we are taking a short break to go back and finish up our project. In the mean time summer is here our baseball teams are hot and we're going get ourselves a cold one and get to work. We will be back in no time. Have a safe and awesome summer.

Cheers!!

Squared Off

March 24, 2008: So I've been away for some time. The reason was that my old computer completely blew up! Took me awhile to get enough money to get a new one together. So now I'm happy to say that I'm back!

As for Squared Off news. If you do not know by now, Joe had an accident a couple months ago. While on a trail snowboarding, a newbie had crossed his path made him slam into a tree. He wound up breaking his femur in five places and left him bed ridden since. This seems more like a dejavu. Good thing we had Scott the old drummer of Boots and Bracelets help us out. Since the accident we had booked a handful great shows. So now spring almost here, Joe actual is able to get out the house and we are getting ready to get back behind the drums soon. It's been a long winter and it's time to get busy. We hope to see you out there. Keep in touch theres more shows to do.

Cheers

Squared Off

November 22, 2007: Winter is here summer is gone. It's time to get busy indoors and write new material for a new album. Our little summer tour was a success. Even though it was a short tour we had a blast traveling with Guns on The Run. Soon right after our getaway, Rob had made his decision to leave Squared Off and persue his PhD career. He'll not be forgotten.

With the bad comes the good. Right soon after Rob leaving us then comes JP. Since we had to change members our decision was clear. Less playing and more writting. Got to get the new guy in! Time to say so long for a few months and see you next year!

Cheers
Squared Off

August 14, 2007: Ok so we haven't posted anything lately. I apologize to everyone!!! But we have some big news!!! Here we go!

As we Squared Off are about to embark on a short tour. We feel we should come clean at this time. (Yes we've been keeping secrets.) The past couple of practices we have been trying something new. What that is is practicing with a different drummer then we have been for the past year. Yes thats correct we have a different drummer now. You may know him his name is Joe Wiess. Yeah you know. That lanky machine that used to pulverize the drum kit is now back from Montana. (What the fuck was he doing there anyway?)

Anyway, You all might say to yourself. "Self? What then happened to Rob?" "Did he leave the band after having enough of Ryan and Hoser's punishment? " Not likely.

At this time we would like to announce that Squared Off is now a four piece. You all remember Hoser on vocals and guitar right? And big ugly Ryan on bass and vocals? Yeah who could forget him. And we already talked about Joe being the drummer again right (Weren't you paying attention?) So what's left for Rob to do. Vocalist? HA! We are not death metal enough for his vocal stylings. Keyboardist? Not likely. Saxaphone? Suckonmywhat? Merch bitch and van driver? Well yeah he'll be that too. But we would like to announce our search is finally over for a second guitarist. Imagine that. All this time that little shit was hiding under our noses.

When will this offically start taking place? How's Friday in Cleveland for ya, That is if everything goes to plan which it looks promising. So checkout our page for more details as to the shows that are coming up and we well keep you posted for sure. Oh yeah and Be sure to say Hi to Rob and welcome back to Joe. More big news to follow after the tour but we don't want to spill it all. We like keeping secrets sometimes. See you on the road.

Cheers,
Squared Off

November 15, 2006 BIG NEWS!!!!!

First off we would like to thank everyone who has stuck through our little lull in action. Your support and constant nagging for us to play shows has kept us going while we looked for a replacement for Joe. So it is without further delay we would like to announce that our newest member of Squared Off is our new drummer Rob Hurley.
Rob originally hails from North Carolina and has moved to Chicago to attend school for some brainiac job we couldn't even begin to comprehend. He auditioned for Squared Off with a left broken shoulder and was able to still get right in sync with the music. Plus he's got a pretty good drinking tolerance even if it enhances his southern twang in his voice.

Now for the next bit of news. Oh yes there is more! While we are busy getting Rob 100% up to speed we decided to do something totally off base of Squared Off. Johnathan Brandmier the morning DJ on the loop has kept Ryan entertained since he was a little kid and his father used to listen to him. (Wow thats long ago.) Anyway, Jonathan Brandmier has offered up a contest to write an anthem for the Chicago Bears. The prize is $5000. We decided since Hoser and Ryan are huge Bears fans why not write a song, submit it, and see what happens. So we did. It is entitled Da Brawling Bears Anthem. (Hey you come up with a better title in four hours of work!) Hoser should be posting it in our player tonight or tommorrow. So stop back and have a listen. The reason I bring this up is if we make it into the second round of judging, we have to play this live Friday November 17th at 115 Bourbon St. in Merrionette Park. So there is a sliight chance we might have our first appearance as this line up THIS FRIDAY! We'll keep you posted and let you know for sure as soon as we do.

But wait! We're not done yet! Come on keep reading this is what alot of you asked for. While Rob gets up to speed we have already planned our first official comeback date. Here is the deal.

DEMEMBER 30th
7pm @ The Rock Box
in Rockford IL ALL AGES!!!!!!!
We will be playing with
Egans Rats (Final show ever!)
Deadly Nightshade
& Boulevard Trash

More shows will follow. Yes they will be local but we keep screwing Rockford so we owed them. So just hang tight a little bit more, come back later tonight and checkout the song, and we will see you soon.

Cheers,
Squared Off
